Wholesale Broker – High Net Worth – Newry

The Background
Our client are the preferred wholesaler for a large UK insurance firm who are transferring a large book of clients to their online portal. In tandem with opening an office in Newry, Co. Down our client wishes to hire a Wholesale Personal Lines Broker who will be responsible for liaising with a number of UK based (mainly England and Scotland) retail brokers and handling their High Net Worth queries out of the Newry office.

The Role
You will within the first year have migrated a huge amount of business from the UK brokers. You’ll have met with the brokers and dealt with their queries and retained approximately 70% of these. You’ll have dealt with pushback from these brokers and have added new covers to the policies, issued the documents to the broker and handled any complaints/queries they have. There are no targets associated with this role but the expectation is that you will secure about 70% of the policies coming across (mainly prestige home and contents insurance for people with significant assets – High Net Worth). You’ll also deal with any brokers referred to you and act as an extension of the insurance firm by delivering a top class service on these new and existing business policies.

The Person
You may have previously worked in a Personal Lines department of a larger broker and may have had previous exposure to High Net Worth policies. You have experience of Home/Household & Motor policies with experience of High Net Worth being advantageous. You’ve handled new business, renewals and mid term adjustments and possess a good telephone manner and are used to dealing with brokers or members of the public and understand how to deal with brokers/clients. Ideally you have a minimum of 1-2 years Personal Lines Broking experience and are effective at dealing with pushback from the brokers and can bring them back onside by providing them with a great service. You are Cert CII qualified and are able to work on your own for extended periods without supervision. This will be a hybrid working model with two days in the office in Newry and three from home. This position may also suit an individual seeking to return to work in the Insurance sector.

The Team
You’ll join an existing team of six and will report into a Director who has been with this firm for the past ten years and is excellent at delegating and organising.

The Package
Base Salary in the £25-30k range with an annual bonus offered based on growth (5-10% will net a 5% bonus; over 10% nets a 10% bonus), flexitime, hybrid working with wfh and annual leave entitlement.
